As of 1/1/2016, Mold Assessments are required by the NYS Dept of Labor prior to any work being performed by a Contractor conducting Mold Remediation. Mold Remediation Contractors and Mold Assessors must be NYS licensed to conduct business. Mold Assessors inspect the property, often times take samples, identify the property deficiencies which cause mold, describe a general protocol for remediation and provide an estimate cost range for the remediation and correction of property deficiencies. The property owner may then obtain proposals from licensed mold remediators. The contracted mold remediator is required to provide the proposed remediation plan to the assessor prior to starting work.
After the remediation work is completed, the assessor returns for the final inspection. If the assessor is satisfied with the work, including correction of the causes of the mold growth, they will provide a clearance report. An assessor is not allowed to provide both services (assessment and remediation) on the same project. Wise Home Solutions, Inc. is uniquely qualified to perform superior Mold Assessments due to our extensive credentials, certifications and experience in the fields of Mold Remediation & Inspection, Building Science, Architecture & Construction.
